With a minimum of 15 years of teaching experience, and a Master’s degree or higher in the field, our tutors are continuously dedicated to their love of language and passion for sharing it.

Background
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Clara L. has called many places home: She has lived in Europe, Africa, and North America. She has always had a love of languages and diverse cultures, so it’s only natural that Clara’s education includes Bachelors’ degrees in French/English Translation, Spanish Language and Literature, and a Master’s in Spanish.
Clara has taught foreign languages at post-secondary institutions across Canada and the USA. Besides teaching, developing curriculum, testing out new technologies, making presentations internationally, and mentoring her students, she created the Portuguese Program at the prestigious Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Clara is also an AP Test Reader, and as such she’s very well versed on how to best prepare for and take the Spanish Language and Culture AP exams.Philosophy
As evidenced by her background, Clara has embraced the idea that all aspects of a culture relate to language. Influenced by people, politics, art, literature, and technology, learning a language is best done through all available avenues. This philosophy lays the foundation for Languages Learning Lab: create as many learning pathways as possible for each individual, always striving to embrace new methods and integrating innovation with the fundamental methods to best suit each student’s needs.
